Formed from the 60s cult band working the Rhythm & Blues club circuit around Surrey at a time when The Stones and The Yardbirds started to penetrate pop consciousness, The Others in 2012 mark a return to the dark and dirty roots that came as such a shock to conventional sensibilities.

Paul Stewart, Peter Hammerton and Robert Tolchard front-line the band, backed by drummer Geoff Coxon. Touring a set of revisited 60s R&B classics built on the insistent driving heft that white bands first brought to black urban music, they see their challenge as taking the familiar and re-birthing it, in order to take themselves and their audience to a deep shared state of excitement.

The Others transform the old catalogue by extending chord-progressions, exploring fresh tempos and rhythmic patterns and by employing richer instrumentation.

The Others R&B

TheOthersR&B blends Blues, Rock and Motown to redefine Richmond 60's Rhythm'n'Blues. Brian May describes them as 'really excellent, easily in the Yardbird's class', Jimmy Page produced and played on their recordings and Elton John offered them his earliest songs. TheOthersR&B have re-formed and are creating a buzz in 2013. Lean and evergreen, they'll remind you what R&B was - and still is - about.
