Encaustic Wax - Vibrant Interpretations
Born in Yorkshire in the early '50s Glenis Blakistonmoved to Devon as a child with her parents and has never wanted to live anywhere else.
She has always had an artistic talent and has developed her skills mostly through self tuition and occasional classes, attaining O then A Level in art only after her children were grown up.
She lives on the edge of Dartmoor on a farm with her husband, three pigmy goats, four chickens and two cats. From their home they have stunning views to the North, South and West of Dartmoor, which inspire her art.
Glenis paints in watercolour, pastels and mixed media and has now discovered wax painting, which she finds so liberating.
'
I find it very exciting to see a vibrant painting evolving before my eyes. No two pieces can ever be the same and I never make prints, as the vibrancy and sparkle would be lost, so every one is original and unique. I love this type of painting and feel that it really suits me'.
For her hobbies Glenis likes walking, cooking, reading, pottery, card and jewellery making; in fact she thrives on anything creative.
