Pete Allen first formed his band in October 1978, and during the early years made thirty appearances for "Pebble Mill At One" - BBC Television. The Pete Allen Jazz Band appears at prestigious Jazz Festivals, Theatres and Clubs throughout the UK and abroad, with tours in Germany, Holland, Denmark, France, U.S.A, Majorca and the Canary Islands.

Pete's band plays an exciting and entertaining musical selection of happy traditional jazz. The Pete Allen Jazz Band provides a slick and fast moving programme. Featuring Pete Allen (Clarinet/Saxes/Vocals), Dave Herridge (Piano), Andy Dickens (Trumpet), Dave Hanratty (Bass), Richie Bryant (Drums), Dave Moorwood (Banjo/Guitar), and Graham Woodhouse (Trombone).
