Tosca: Ellen Kent International
Ellen Kent’s production of Puccini’s manipulative melodrama Tosca is performed by the Moldovan National Opera and the Moldovan National Philharmonic Orchestra.
Tosca is an epic tale of true love and treachery featuring torture, murder and suicide alongside some of opera’s best-known music.
This traditional production is set against the backdrop of Rome with spectacular sets and costumes.
Featuring international soloists soprano Elena Dee as Tosca and baritone Vladimir Dragos as Scarpia, as well as a boys choir.
Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
Ellen Kent International
Producer Ellen Kent and her company Opera & Ballet International have been responsible for bringing to the UK and Eire much of the Eastern European opera seen here in the last seven years.
From her base at the Chatham Historic Dockyard, she has been working with the Chisinau National Opera since 1996 and last year the two companies signed an exclusive five-year contract, believed to be the first such contract between a major foreign national opera company and a British production company.
