Leo & Anto

In the Summer of 2013, with The Saw Doctors on a year long sabbatical, fellow band members Leo Moran and Anthony Thistlethwaite put together an intimate acoustic show that included their own versions of Saw Doctors classics, a few lesser-known tracks, and a sprinkling of solo songs. It was such a success that they're back on the road in 2014, and we're delighted to welcome them to ARC!

Ant and Leo are such good mates, they can even name the date they first met. It was May 1st 1988, when the fledgling Saw Doctors - with Leo on guitar - were playing a marathon fund-raising set at the Warwick Hotel in Galway. Eleven miles up the coast, The Waterboys - with Anto on the sax - were recording their classic album Fisherman's Blues in the extravagant settings of the Siddal House estate. Somewhere along the line, Anto wandered into the hotel, with sax in hand, and starting playing along with the Saw Doctors. It was the beginning of a lifelong musical friendship...
