Never miss another 'Lunasa' show
Lunasa
Irish folk-rock outfit incorporating musicians from The Waterboys, The Sharon Shannon Band and Coolfin. Since releasing their debut CD in 1997, Lunasa has acquired a worldwide reputation for re-defining traditional Irish acoustic music. Their inventive arrangements and bass-driven grooves redefine the genre by going to the heart of its rhythms and steering towards surprising new territory. Formed in 1996 Lunasa is widely-known for original compositions, powered by double bass-driven rhythms. The band features Kevin Crawford, Sean Smyth and Cillian Vallely on traditional Irish instrumentation of low whistle, uilleann pipes, tin whistles and fiddle, augmented by Trevor Hutchinson on double bass and Ed Boyd on guitar. 'The hottest Irish band on the planet' -The New York Times.
