Sunday Morning Jazz: Mike Hatchard + Chris Dean
Chris Dean is the fronts-person of the celebrated Syd Lawrence Orchestra (a band with which Mike Hatchard occasionally plays). Not only one of the world's most in demand trombonists (credits include McCartney, Sinatra and Streisand) he is also a wonderful vocalist. Together with Mike he performs a show dubiously entitled 'Two Gentleman With A Bone (& A Joanna)'.
This is best described as a swashbuckling roller-coaster of a show taking in everything from Mozart to Matt Monro via Flanders and Swann and managing a side pass at Tony Bennett and Tom Waits, with a hint of Spike Milligan.
Mike Hatchard
Acclaimed jazz pianist and composer. His works have included musical interpretations of the classic tales, rhymes and children's stories.
