The Historians: HotIce Theatre
82 000 people, two McDonalds, one famous building society and the finest cloth hall in all England. Average rainfall: lots.
Stepping shell-suited out of the 1990s, eloquent, unruly and unlikely heroines Chucker and Mucker offer you their lives as a lens on the extraordinary history of the town of Halifax. Belting breakneck over hill and down cul-de-sac, the teenagers run amok, terrorising Woolworths, traumatizing pets, decimating dance floors and discovering that sometimes home can be an unfamiliar place.
A funny, touching and unlikely tale of friendship played out against the backdrop of one town’s great industrial past and national politics from Thatcher to Blair. In the end, is the place you’re going more important than the place you’re from?
Known for their visually, physically and verbally inventive work, Hot Ice Theatre's hugely acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Festival smash shows that there is fragility at the heart of even the strongest friendship.
