Two of the UK’s leading string soloists, violinist Anthony Marwood and cellist Natalie Clein come together for an intimate evening of solos and duos in St Thomas’s Church. Both have handpicked one of Bach’s solo studies for their instrument, highlights of the repertoire that will spotlight each’s artistry. And in preparation for a recording later in the year, two of the finest string duos bookend this programme, folk-influenced scores that achieve astonishing light and shade from their relatively spare forces.
