Rochdale Amateur Operatic Society

Rochdale AOS are proud to bring to the Gracie Fields Theatre the musical Witchfinder, winner of 5 GMDF (Greater Manchester Drama Federation) awards back in 2009 for Best Book and Lyrics, Best Production and Best Director to name three.

It is a genuine, full-blown musical show written by Martin Roche, with music by Ian Crabtree and orchestrations by Gavin Meredith - all 3 local to the North West. It is the remarkable tale of the Pendle Witch trial, set in 1612 in Jacobean England combined with an enthralling love story.

Every tune in the show is a winner, from big ensemble songs that stir to ballads that romanticise. The extraordinary cast includes Sarah Thewlis, James Cockerill, Darren Fricker and Alison Curran.
