18th Century Drawing Collections And Charles Rogers FRS FSA (1711 - 1784)

Plymouth City Museum & Art Gallery's remarkable and extensive Cottonian Collection is designated for its pre-eminent importance.
In this evening's lecture Michael Liversidge will explore the life of Charles Rogers (1711 to 1784), the major contributor to the Cottonian Collection, and in particular focus on the extraordinary collection of drawings he assembled during the later part of 18th Century.
Michael Liversidge is Emeritus Dean, Faculty of Arts at Bristol University. Widely published, he specialises in British art from the Renaissance to the early-20th Century.
