Cumbrian Contrasts Collection

Cumbrian Contrasts is a new and exciting collection of artwork that contains a diverse selection of pieces from a small group of contemporary Cumbrian artists.

Kevin Weaver’s beautiful paintings express the power of nature, allowing colour to compliment and they show the shifting moods and weather of the Cumbrian Landscape.

Anna Blair uses traditional shibori binding techniques incorporating a modern twist by using the process to add a three dimensional texture to fabrics.

Steve Valentine of Edge Ceramics creates pieces as a reaction to something seen or heard, such as a saturated rock surface or an isolated tarn in the fells.

Roxanne Denny’s glass is highly influenced by colour and light. Her fused glass concentrates on pattern whereas her cast glass sculptures explore contrasting themes and textures.

Victoria Mortuary’s paintings on ‘found’ pieces of wood create a unique narrative, exploring and communicating different fantastical characters and their deeply macabre surroundings or situations.

Luke Harding of MOS Bespoke Furniture will be showcasing a range of functional wooden pieces created in his Lake District workshop. The work is strong and diverse, tied together by the stunning surroundings the artists live and work in.
