Cooper Boyes And Simpson
Coope, Boyes and Simpson com¬bine unique reworkings of traditional material and well?crafted, original songs with beauti¬fully memorable tunes, soaring harmonies and words that strike a chord. Over the last twenty years, as well as recording a series of critically-acclaimed albums, they have worked on a number of exclusive projects, one of which was at the National Theatre. They collaborated and performed with former Children's Laureate Michael Morpurgo in Private Peaceful, their powerful lyrics forming the perfect story-telling accompaniment.
Cooper Boyes And Simpson
An English vocal folk trio made up of Barry Coope, Jim Boyes and Lester Simpson. Their sound is rich and often has unusual vocal harmonies. Almost all of their music is sung entirely a cappella, although they have been know to use accordion, guitar and drums very sparingly on recordings. They perform a mixture of both traditional folk songs (though often creatively arranged), hymns and carols, and their own original compositions.
