Courage, Camaraderie And Community

Courage, Camaraderie and Community presents a series of memorials examining the lives of those involved, and demonstrating insight into how communities have dealt with the loss of mining in their identity, and built hope for the future.

The exhibition considers a variety of memorials including disasters, strikes and lock-outs, the re-creation of banners, the commemoration of World War 1, the Bevin Boys’ memorial and the last colliery bands; all ensuring that mining will not be forgotten.
