Bituminous Illuminations

Canadian artist Gary Blundell’s Bituminous Illuminations will be on display throughout the museum. Offering a response to the coal mining sites in Yorkshire, Blundell’s paintings explore the effects of the mining industry on the landscape, reflecting his experiences both on the surface and underground at the Museum, and at Kellingley Colliery and former mining sites around Castleford.
