Hay Fever

This is a play, like Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, that transforms triviality into comic perfection.

The Bliss Family comprises of: Judith, a retired actress to whom all the world is literally a stage; David, a novelist and their children, Simon and Sorel, who, like their parents, are artistically inclined, selfish and bad mannered.

When four guests arrive at their country house by the Thames, they expect a civilised weekend of polite conversation and illicit love affairs. But the Bliss family are eccentric bohemians and, as confusion mounts, their unwitting guests are desperate to flee.
