This Farming Life: Tom & Barbara Brown
a fascinating, wide-ranging show, designed for rural touring, which mixes traditional and modern folksong, prose and archive film, all around the theme of ‘This Farming Life’.
The film material is drawn from the South West Film & Television Archive, using black & white and colour film, some from as early as the 1920s, some with sound, some silent, together with still video-grabs.
The songs come from the folk-song heritage, largely of the West Country – many still known and sung traditionally. Readings on labouring, horse ploughing and women’s work are paraphrased from Ian Niall’s writing.
Suitable for any age from 12 years upwards.
Bar available. Bring picnic supper.

Strings & free Reed, with a West Country Trad folk bias. Expect expert close harmonies, accompanied (or not as the song demands) by guitar, concertina or melodeon.
