Spiritualized
Formed out of the ashes of the sadly missed Spacemen 3. Spiritualized have consistently made music that epitomises the phrase 'Junkie Cool'. Amazing songs about life, death, love, sex, drugs and the big guy upstairs. Live they are incredible and could have anything from a small horn section to a full orchestra to back them up, and a pretty cool light show too.

The xx
2010 Mercury Prize winners The xx are a London trio known for their captivating stripped-down minimalist sound. It's often been said that "quiet is the new loud" and The xx are certainly among the best at creating gentle yet intense atmospheric mood music. Simplistic bass and keyboards at hush levels with vocals at almost a whisper, their delicate songs have led to comparisons with Young Marble Giants and early Cocteau Twins.

The Tiger Lillies
Their music is a mixture of pre-war Berlin cabaret, anarchic opera and gypsy music, echoing the voices of Bertolt Brecht and Jacques Brel. The Tiger Lillies shock, amuse and entertain in a postmodern vaudeville way, with their inimitable in-yer-face shows, where no limit should be taken for granted.

Hello Saferide
Swedish singer / songwriter Annika Norlin, whose debut album 'Introducing... Hello Saferide' was released in September 2005.

She & Him
A collaboration between Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, She & Him is the soundtrack to a long, glorious summer; warm, breezy and lingering, their songs are young romance at its most nostalgic. Gloriously angelic harmonies and a timeless indie-pop flavour instantly draw you into their debut album, Volume One, and of course their aptly-titled follow-up Volume Two.
She & Him tour dates
Liars
Liars is a three-piece American band consisting of Australian-born Angus Andrew (vocals/guitar), Aaron Hemphill (percussion, guitar, synth) and Julian Gross (drums). Although initially lumped into the New York post-punk revival scene, Liars have come to be categorised by their dramatic stylistic shifts between albums, while retaining a consistent interest in rhythm and sound texture.

Trash Kit
Trash Kit are a careering skip-rope no-wave trio from London. Mixing chaos and trippy melody in equal measure, Trash Kit are as jubliant as they are focussed. Vocals tangle with each other and highly expressive drum patterns, while guitar lines make for a serious adventure into the realms of party.
Trash Kit tour dates
Juana Molina
Haunting and disparate singer and musician drawing on folk, roots and world music to create beautifully delicate modern folk songs. Juana Molina’s voice is as soft as the wind and as determined as a storm; her music pushing the boundaries of traditional and modern. A musical delight.

Konono No1
'These incredible Congolese musicians play traditional Bazombo trance music - with a difference! Using homemade instruments (pots, pans, scrap percussion) and a DIY approach to amplification (microphones made from car parts and magnets, banks of megaphones) they create a super-amplified sound, which is raw and distorted yet gloriously experimental and danceable'- Womad.
