Bodhran Beginners Workshop

The bodhran (pronounced bow-ran) or Irish frame drum has grown from its use in traditional Irish music to become a popular instrument used across many forms of Celtic, folk and contemporary roots music.

This beginners level workshop introduces aspiring players to the instrument and will cover all basic techniques, traditional and contemporary rhythms and drum care advice.

Instruments will be provided. A teacher and performer for more than 20 years, tutor Aimée Leanoard has performed and recorded with the group Anam, appeared at many festivals around the world, and teaches all levels from beginner to advanced.
