The Measure Of All Things

A group of paintings by Hughie O’Donoghue R.A.

The exhibition will show three powerful works: The Measure of All Things I and II and Flanders and the Narrow Seas, which are the artist’s response to ‘the legacy of loss and how we remember things’. They are a reflection on both World Wars, influenced by the artist’s father’s service in the British Army, his own visits to the battlefields of the First and Second World Wars, and his chance find in a French antiques shop of a young woman’s photo-album of holidays in Northern France in 1903 and 1904.
