To mark the 150th anniversary of Richard Strauss, we perform one of his well-loved works that tells the tale of a disreputable man who seduced many women. Many famous songs from West Side Story can be heard in Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances, and the dance theme continues with Rachmaninov’s final orchestral work.
