Fashion And Armour: Proud Lookes And Brave Attire
Hear about two subjects that never knew they had so much in common, fashion and armour.
Armour was lavish, sophisticated and colourful, worn by men who were the fashion leaders of their day. Armour styles mirror closely those of contemporary clothing. But armour not only survives more frequently than clothing, it retains its form and enables us to track changing Renaissance ideas concerning ideal body-shape. Repositioning armour nearer the Renaissance wardrobe helps inspire fashion designers today adding a new layer of relevance to an exciting subject.
