BT River of Music will present the city's residents and visitors with a unique opportunity to sample a kaleidoscope of the world's most vibrant contemporary music.
Established, award-winning and emerging artists from every part of the globe will be performing on stages at six iconic sites along the length of the River Thames each hosting music from a different continent.

Aurelio Martinez
One of the most extraordinary and passionate Garifuna artists of his generation, Aurelio Martinez follows in the footsteps of the legendary Parranderos of the Caribbean coast of Central America to become the new voice of Parranda. Acclaimed for both his preservation and modernisation of this musical tradition, Aurelio’s virtuosity is found in his distinctive, penetrating vocals and his talent as a composer. With the sea as his constant companion, Aurelio makes music that spans tragic history and soulful ceremonies, music sparked by his childhood in an isolated coastal hamlet and channeled to honor his late friend and mentor, Garifuna musical icon, Andy Palacio. Aurelio is the tradition bearer for a unique culture with African, Caribbean Indian, and Latin influences, but also a thoroughly modern artist determined to break new ground for his centuries-old roots.
