Hive

American composer and former Battles front man Tyondai Braxton presents the UK premiere of his new project HIVE - a live multimedia performance that is part architectural installation and part band. Five performers interact with each other using modular synthesizers, samples, and intricately composed acoustic percussion, while sitting cross-legged on custom-built pods, designed by Danish architect Uffe Surland Van Tams. Each pod is programmed to complete the sonic mood of the piece with ever-changing LED light emitting through its perforated wooden walls.

Premiered last year at the Guggenheim Museum Rotunda in New York, HIVE has also been performed at the Sydney Opera House, and was considered one of the highlights of the MONA FOMA festival in Tasmania last January. It comes to London for a one-off performance at Oval Space.
