A Musical Portrait: Ensemble Chaconne

Celebrating the great English painter Thomas Gainsborough's passion for music, with works by his friends Carl Friedrich Abel, Felice de Giardini, J.C. Bach, Johann Fischer and Rudolf Straube.

In addition there will be a piece composed by society lady Anne Ford (shown in a stunning Gainsborough portrait holding her English guitar) and a song by African composer Ignatius Sancho, who was born on a slave ship and rose to become a composer and a man of letters.
