Benjamin Britten And Dennis Brain: An Enduring Collaboration

Dennis Brain was the leading horn player of his generation and Britten wrote several works for him in the 1940s and 50s. In this talk, British Library Edison Fellow Justin Albstein will discuss the nature of their working relationship through close examination of recordings held in the British Library Sound Archive and will show how Britten's writing for the horn evolved with Brain's playing style.

Although this event is free, booking is essential.
