Whales In Cubicles
The large aquatic mammals generate some proper nods of the head with their earnest, orchestral rock music. They build to stately crescendos, urgently treading on the toes of Arcade Fire and The Dismembermen. Founded by singer-songwriter Stef Bernardi, the band originate from Washington D.C., but moved to London UK. Stef’s American indie rock influences has led to songs that are at once reticent and raging, dragging the listener through a sonic landscape which switches from explosive riffs to introverted verses in the blink of an eye.
