Pick Me Up 2014

Now in its fifth year, the UK’s original contemporary graphic arts festival Pick Me Up showcases graphic art in all its forms. Aimed at being the antithesis of a traditional art fair, Pick Me Up is a fun and informal festival featuring quirky studio spaces in which to shop for affordable artwork from the great and good of graphic arts, and a daily, lively line-up of events which encourage both budding and bonafide artists of all ages to get involved.

Pick Me Up 2014 promises to be bigger and better than ever with more late nights and an even wider range of illustration and design represented, from fashion and architecture to comic books and album covers.

This year’s festival will be filled with even more days and extra late-nights of talks, workshops and screenings. Confirmed so far are fashion illustration favourites Daisy de Villeneuve and Jason Brooks, and pug fan Gemma Correll. Also, don’t miss special pub quiz Lets Get Quizzical presented by Camberwell Press, and back for 2014 are Pick Me Up favourites such as Anthony Burrill and our ever popular Children’s Choice Weekend.

A group of international rising stars who have recently graduated or set up new studios, who will all be creating new work especially for Pick Me Up. Past Selects artists include Jean Jullien, Mr Bingo and Sarah Maycock, who have all gone on to achieve global acclaim. This year the selection includes Brooklyn based animator Julia Pott, colourful but creepy characters by Kyle Platts, and London-based comic artist Isabel Greenberg.

New for 2014 is Pick Me Up Radio with an exciting line-up of DJs and interviews and streaming live throughout the festival. Returning after their tattoo parlour antics last year, Puck Collective will be building an arsenal of illustrated weaponry in preparation for a day long live-drawing battle called Andy War Wall. Other galleries providing a fantastic selection of limited edition prints and originals for sale include Beach London, Unlimited, Handsome Frank and Outline Artists.
