Eighteenth Century English Recorders
This event marks the culmination of an important project, sponsored by the Academy and the University of Oxford, to record some of the finest recorders by eighteenth-century English makers, such as Bressan and Stanesby, housed in the Bate Collection at Oxford. Given the delicacy and rarity of these instruments, it is unlikely they will ever be heard live in public again. Academy professors Peter Holtslag and Elizabeth Kenny present a recital including works by Handel, Eccles, Daniel Purcell and Banister to celebrate the launch of their CD.
