Image © Caribou
The artist formerly known as Manitoba, offering up a likeable blend of electronica and sunshine pop. Their live set sees them deliver a carnival-esque whirl of ridiculous melodies, effusive noise, stampeding beats alongside furiously harmonised vocals. Two drummers, visuals and whirling guitars and keyboards create a claustrophobic, mesmeric soundscape akin to My Bloody Valentine and the sprawling, bucolic tour de force, like early Mercury Rev.
Caribou tour dates
As abrasively dark as artrock gets at the moment. Clanking and clanging rhythms recall the industrialisms of Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire but the droning repetition is a distinctly Germanic groove of Can and Neu. With searing guitars and rumbling bass the most obvious new wave relations are PiL, Wire and Gang of Four.
Factory Floor tour dates
Indie-jazz outfit from Hull who have toured the US with Battles and have remixed tracks for Panda Bear, Caribou and The Field. They frazzled minds and made hearts swoon with the release of their second album 'Coracle'- they’ve captured the shimmering layers of guitar and synths, ecstatic melodies and emotive vocals that made their debut an instant classic. At times a towering bass line is surrounded by a swirling web of guitars and percussion - creating a much more dancefloor orientated set..
