Tenacious D
Tenacious D hit the road this June in support of their new album 'Rize Of The Fenix'.
The band's first studio album in over six years, 'Rize Of The Fenix' is released on May 14th. Tenacious D describes the making of the album as "a journey similar to that of Gandolph in The Lord of the Rings".
Produced by the brilliant John Kimbrough, the album was recorded in the garage behind his LA home and features Jack Black and Kyle Gass (Tenacious D's core duo), performing with Dave Grohl (drums), John Spiker (bass, piano, organ) and John Konesky (electric guitar). The album was engineered and mixed by John Spiker who has been touring with the band for years.
Tenacious D
Anyone who's seen a Tenacious D video on MTV or Kerrang will have recognised (once they've stopped laughing) the face of comedian and sometime movie star Jack Black as frontman of the group, supported by pal Kyle Gass. The welcome surprise is that they can actually play (Black's semi-falsetto voice is superb), and any rock fans looking for good melodies and great lyrics could do a lot worse.
