Poet In The City Presents London Laureates: Poetry In Performance
Poet in the City, in partnership with Spoke, presents a unique poetry performance event celebrating the very best young talent in London.
In 2013 Spread the Word devised a development programme to uncover the talent of London's best young poets while searching for the first ever Young Poet Laureate for London. Warsan Shire was finally announced as London's Young Poet Laureate by Carol Ann Duffy at the Houses of Parliament, on National Poetry Day last year.
Selected poets from the team of Young Laureates will perform alongside 2013 winner Warsan Shire in a fantastic celebration of poetry and performance. The Young Poet Laureate 6 are: Bridget Minamore, James Massiah, Jolade Olusanya, Monima Mela, Aisling Fahey & Warsan Shire.

Warsan Shire is a Kenyan-born Somali 'poet, performer and activist' who lives in London.
