The Flint Street Nativity
Written by Tim Firth and directed by Jennie Mende.
The seven year olds of Miss Horrocks' class 2H, Flint Street Primary School, hope you will join them at their Nativity Play.
Tim Firth wrote "The Flint Street Nativity" inspired by his experience as a five year old, denied the part of Joseph in his class Nativity play. This meant that he missed the chance of holding the hand of the girl playing Mary who he fancied, but who loved his best friend! Adding the experiences of teacher friends he wrote the TV version of the play.
Now adapted for the stage with the addition of well known carols (though not always the well known lyrics), the play "exposes the snake-pit of paediatric power- politics" in the staging of an infant class Nativity.
This hilarious and touching play is an ideal pre-Christmas treat. And anyway if you don't come Mr. Firth, Miss Horrocks and Mrs Mende will be very upset!
