BT London Live: The Overtones
A series of events at Hyde Park, offering a unique opportunity for you to enjoy the excitement of the Games on six giant screens - including the UK's largest at 144m² - giving unparalleled coverage of every Olympic medal live throughout the day, for the duration of the Games.
Outdoor arts performances will be staged across the site (Monday – Friday only) with performers from the London Outdoor Arts Festival stopping off in Hyde Park. The free to access days will kick off with a very special performance in Hyde Park by the legend, the voice – SIR TOM JONES. Tom will be on the main stage on Saturday 28 July 2012 at BT London Live.
Sports participation opportunities will include six specially created 'Have a go' areas. Open to all ages and abilities, there will be a range of Olympic and Paralympic sports to try out from Handball, Athletics, Hockey and Equestrian simulators, to Paralympic sports including Sitting Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball.
Olympic and Paralympic sponsors will also use Hyde Park to showcase and entertain visitors with a number of fun and interactive public pavilions being created especially for BT London Live.
Access to BT London Live Hyde Park and Victoria Park is FREE, just walk up and join the fun. There are a limited number of Guaranteed Entry Tickets available for those who want to ensure they don't miss out on a particular day or their favourite sport. These tickets allow guaranteed entry before 2pm. After 2pm, entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, but due to likely demand, may be subject to queues.
BT will also be opening the doors to BT House at BT London Live Hyde Park. Open from 27th July to 12th August, BT House will feature meet and greet sessions with sporting legends including Dame Kelly Holmes, decathlete Daley Thompson, rower Greg Searle, ex footballer Martin Keown and Paralympians Ade Adepitan and Liz Johnson.
See www.btlondonlive.com for further information and to secure your tickets.
The Overtones blend classic '50s harmonies with modern pop. As well as inspired interpretations of hits from yesteryear, including The Darts' ‘Come Back My Love’ and The Chords’ ‘SH-Boom (Life Could Be A Dream)’, The Overtones’ impressive armoury includes the co-written ‘Good Ol’ Fashioned Love’ - the title track of their 2010 album - and their own timeless compositions ‘Carolyn’ and showstopper ‘Gambling Man’.
