Akademi Arts In Parliament Community Performance: Pushkala Gopal
South Asian dance organisation Akademi will be engaging with a diverse range of artists and community groups across London to illuminate the 900-year-old interior of Westminster Hall in a performance on 10 August as part of Arts in Parliament - a programme of unique performances and exhibitions staged in Parliament during the summer of 2012. Working with renowned Bharatanatyam artist Pushkala Gopal, the piece will aim to celebrate the history and resilience of the South Asian dance community in the UK. The 45 minute performance will include presentations by young people and senior artists.
