Laugh Or The Polar Bear Gets It: Josh Widdicombe, Tony Law, Danny Bhoy, Stewart Lee, Ed Byrne, Dan Antopolski, Francesca Martinez
In its third year, Laugh or the Polar Bear Gets It will not only provide you with a whale of a time, but will go a long way in supporting Friends of the Earth's mission to promote a positive relationship between people and the environment.
Some superb new acts have joined the stellar line-up at this year's event at Hammersmith Apollo including Josh Widdicombe - star of 'The Last Leg' (C4) and 'Live at the Apollo' , Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Tony Law and Danny Bhoy, as featured on The Late Show with David Letterman and 'Live at the Apollo'.
Already onboard to create another show-stopping event are Stewart Lee, Ed Byrne, Dan Antopolski and Francesca Martinez, with more exciting names to be released.
NB: Unfortunately Beardyman is unable to perform.
Tim Minchin said of last year's show: "This show's titular threat is deadly serious. If you don't come and laugh, we have an actual metaphorical polar bear and it is seriously going to get 'it'. Luckily, we are not worried, because (a) the line-up is excellent, and (b) we don't know what it's a metaphor for!"
Josh Widdicombe
One of the best up-and-coming comedians on the UK circuit, Josh Widdicombe is in constant demand at clubs and theatres across Britain. He is also fast establishing himself on the live circuit, regularly supporting huge comic talent such as Alan Carr, Kevin Bridges and Michael McIntyre. Star of BBC2's 'The Rob Brydon Show', Channel 4's 'Stand Up For The Week' and '8 Out Of 10 Cats', Josh was also nominated for Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer 2011 and Chortle Best Breakthrough Act in 2011. Tony Law
Since winning the Glastonbury New Act competition Canadian comedian Tony Law has become one of the most revered stand-ups on the circuit, winning the acclaim of both the critics and his peers. As testament to this Tony was honoured with the prestigious Comics' Choice 'Piece-of-Wood' Award at the 2005 Melbourne Comedy Festival.
The cheerfully absurd humour that Law knocks around into a jazzy, freeform shape has endeared him to both live and TV audiences in the UK and abroad. He's a regular face at the UK's biggest comedy clubs, and a favourite at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
'One of the finest and funniest comics on the circuit... destined for comedy stardom' (Time Out)
'Form-busting and hugely enjoyable' (The Times).
