Alula

Alula will be performing Iraqi folk - jazz fusion based on new arrangements of Iraq's folk music heritage and improvisation on the country's unique rhythms and musical styles.

"Iraq is in this generation's consciousness and yet our exposure and knowledge of the place and its people has been limited to the mechanical sounds of war and the voices of politicians. We are giving our shared consciousness a human voice using the common language of music."
