Ballad Nights: Borderlands
The second installment in our Ballads series brings together four hugely talented folk musicians. Alasdair, Lisa, Kris and Naomi will deliver a show inspired by research carried out in the VWML and their own knowledge and respective experiences, exploring the ballad traditions of England and Scotland.
Alasdair and Kris are both at the frontline of Scottish folk. A highly successful solo artist, Alasdair is also a member of The Furrow Collective, while Kris is a member of award-winning band Lau. Lisa is no stranger to Cecil Sharp House having performed and taught here regularly; Lisa won the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Original Song. Naomi has an intriguing musical history of folk and rock with her latest album, A History of Insolence receiving high praise.
