Bobb Whittaker Trio
Liverpool saxophonist Bobb Whittaker (Marley Chingus/ Blind Monk Trio) leads an irrepressible trio featuring the blistering talents of Hugo Harrison (double bass) and Colin Lamont (drums).
The group offers tight, original compositions and quirky, reformulations of jazz epics. With influences from the whole history of the saxophone trio ; Sonny Rollins and Joe Henderson, through to the modern day pioneers of FLY and JD Allen, this band puts a modern twist on that classic chordless jazz formula.
