Festive Train & Workshop

Christmas will soon be here and this year Wicksteed Park are rolling out a wonderful early evening experience for all the family to enjoy. Santa himself has especially asked them to decorate their train and station for children who want to clamber aboard the Festive Train and go on magical ride around the lake.

During the journey you will see many beautifully hand-crafted and spellbinding lanterns, decorated trees and floating lights, while you gently chug around the track, nestled up together under a cosy blanket and sipping a nice warm drink.

Before setting off on your magical trip, you will be able to create your own mini lantern and make a wish at the Elves’ Workshop outside the Carousel café. You can then hang your special wish under the ancient oak tree opposite, before walking down to the station.

There you’ll be greeted by jolly Yuletide folk, who’ll give you a festive drink, a mince pie and a blanket to snuggle under before you set off. Once you have completed your journey you will be able to see Santa’s sleigh in the station getting ready for the big night!
