Allam British Open Squash Championships 2014

The most iconic and prestigious squash tournament in the world is back – The Allam British Open.

Thanks to the fantastic and continued support of title sponsor Dr Allam, this year the event will take place in Hull’s impressive indoor Sports Arena. The world’s best will descend on Hull, the 2017 UK City of Culture.

The Platinum World Series Event sees two of Yorkshire’s finest players compete in their home county, Sheffield’s current world champion Nick Matthew and Pontefract’s world no.4 James Willstrop will be keen to wrestle the British Open title from the grasp of mercurial Egyptian World no.1 Ramy Ashour.

The sport’s oldest tournament also welcomes the world’s best female players to East Yorkshire. Last year Laura Massaro stunned Malaysian starlet Nicol David, the pre-eminent female player of her generation, who has won the tournament an impressive four times and been number 1 in the world for over seven years!
