In Conversation
One of the most unique voices in British pop, Tracey Thorn became fascinated with music in her teens. After playing guitar in cult indie band the Marine Girls, she joined forces with Ben Watt and became the singer and songwriter in Everything But The Girl.
Together they released 9 albums and performed everywhere from Glastonbury to Japan. Since then, Thorn has collaborated with a wealth of electronic artists from Tiefschwartz and Tevo Howard to Massive Attack, and released a trio of spellbinding solo albums including Out of the Woods, Love and Its Opposites and Tinsel and Lights.
A talented wordsmith, Thorn has an avid following on Twitter and will be joining us to discuss her colourful career and brilliant memoir, Bedsit Disco Queen: How I Grew Up and Tried to be A Pop Star (Virago). Written with her trademark wit and candor, it’s a bold and brilliant meditation on punk, pop, fame, fashion, feminism, relationships, success and failure.
