"I expected my sentence and I believe it was just. Standing as I do in view of God and Eternity, I realise that patriotism is not enough, I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone." These were the words of Edith Louisa Cavell, on 11 October 1915, the day before she was shot by firing squad in Belgium for the protection, concealment and smuggling away of allied soldiers.

The story of Edith Cavell, a caring and compassionate nurse working in occupied Belgium during the "war to end all wars" is revealed and recounted by a war hardened, weary and cynical 21st century female war correspondent.

Part of the Theatre of War season at The Old Town Hall. Suitable for: 14+.
