Blue Commotion: Blue Commotion
Featuring established jazz musicians stamping their personality on blues flavoured tunes delving as far back as Willie Dixon, Billie Holiday and Muddy Waters, and reaching forward via some originals penned by Zoë and Rob Koral. The band plays with a jazz sensibility and are appearing at Spring Arts as part of a tour in support of the acclaimed Blue Commotion album released in 2011. The musicians includes Gareth Williams on piano, Paul Robinson on drums, Steve Thompson on double-bass, band leader Rob Koral on guitar, and the captivating and highly individual vocals of Zoë Schwarz.
Blue Commotion
Jazz singer Zoe Schwarz plays a fusion of jazz and blues classics from Billie Holiday, Ray Charles and Muddy Waters. She fronts the all-star quintet with her husband Rob Koral on guitar, bassist Steve Thompson and drummer Paul Robinson. Time Out recently reviewed Blue Commotion as "one of the finest guitar based blues and roots acts in the world."
