GuilFest: Main Stage: Orbital + Hadouken! + 65daysofstatic + Draven + The South + Ruarri Joseph + Redwood + Elmor + Macavity's Cat
GuilFest has been consistently voted as one of the UK's best family festivals. Held in the idyllic location of Stoke Park, Guildford, visitors can expect a truly fantastic weekend, featuring 7 stages of live music. It's not just about the music at GuilFest though; around the site you can find the hilarious Cosmic Comedy Zone, the Theatre tent, the incredibly popular Farmer Giles Barn Dance, street theatre, arts and crafts, delicious food and drink from all over the globe, bars and cocktail bars, one of the best festival children's areas on the circuit, The KidZone, and much more besides. Also - back by popular demand and much larger for 2010 will be the jumping 70's disco tent!
Orbital
Dance music is too narrow a term for the genius of the Hartnoll brothers. Capable of both rib-shaking, energetic techno and incredible multi-layered ambient soundscapes, and blessed with a godlike genius when it comes to their DJing sets, Orbital have succeeded Kraftwerk as the Kings of techno and electronica.

The South
After 20 years, ten studio albums, five greatest hits compilations, thirty-four chart singles, 15 million record sales worldwide and performing in front of millions of fans, when time was called on The Beautiful South in 2008, not everyone was ready to leave the party. Dave Hemingway and Ali Wheeler, lead singers with the band - along with departed songwriter Paul Heaton – were having too much fun to get out the pipe and slippers, and so The South was formed. Joining the duo were fellow mainstays from the original band: keyboard wizard Damon Butcher and the potent horn section of Gaz Birtles and Tony Robinson that brought so much to the live shows. Armed with a sensational back catalogue of hits such as ‘Song For Whoever’, ‘Perfect Ten’, ‘Rotterdam’, ‘Don't Marry Her’, ‘You Keep It All In’, ‘Old Red Eyes Is Back’ and many others, there is a long way to go on this particular road.

Ruarri Joseph
Cornish singer-songwriter Ruarri Joseph (his first name is pronounced like 'brewery', in case you were wondering...) making an inventive fusion of blues, rock and soul, inspired by the likes of Tom Waits, Elliott Smith and Django Reindhart. 'Packed full of laidback, lilting folk, Joseph... is a place apart from the more forlorn, angst-ridden offerings from the singer-songwriter canon and more akin to the summery tunes of Van Morrison, Stephen Stills, or even Nick Drake. Macavity's Cat
Formed in Surrey in the 80’s, Macavity's Cat is a notorious nine piece hill billy skiffle band. The line up features such diverse instrumentation as a wash board and zob stick. So see what a bunch of musicians who chose Shane Macgowan and Keith Richards as life coaches look like 20 years later.
