Moscow State Symphony Orchestra
Conducted by the distinguished Russian conductor, Pavel Kogan, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra start their programme with Rimsky Korsakov's exotic Introduction & Three Miracles from Tsar Saltan. This will be followed by Tatiana Kolesova performing Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2, voted in last April's Classic FM Hall of Fame the most popular piece of music in the UK. This much loved piano concerto with its passionate romanticism was most famously used as the theme music for the film Brief Encounter. Our season will end with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, known as the Pathetique.
