Scottish Dance Theatre presents two contrasting and bold new works by internationally acclaimed choreographers that showcase the power and style of the dancers.

Montreal-based Victor Quijada takes urban dance to a new theatrical territory. His World – acclaimed dance style is heavily influenced by the Los Angeles street-dance culture he grew up in. Second Coming, Victor's new work, is an exclusive commission for Scottish Dance Theatre and sets Victor's unique break movement style to a potent turntablist soundtrack by DJ/composer Jasper Gahunia (AKA DJ Lil’ Jaz). A fresh and witty piece, Second Coming contains classical samples, cavernous soundscapes… and surprises.

Norwegian choreographer Jo Strømgren is a theatre sensation, having toured his works in 47 countries. Mixing beautifully poised dance with all means necessary to tell a story, Jo's work is sculpted by an attitude to dance-making that is wild and rigorous. Scottish Dance Theatre is the first to invite him to our shores to create the bold new work Winter, Again. The piece will take you on a journey through the cycle of the darkest, coldest season, using songs from Schubert's classical piece Eine Winterreise. Strømgren is renowned globally as a choreographer, director and playwright, and crosses many disciplines to produce powerful, radical dance theatre.
