Descarga Dance Cuban Salsa Timba Level 1 (Beginners/Improvers)

Whilst all classes work on a drop-in basis, Descarga Dance do encourage you to take the 6 week block in order to develop your learning and get the most out of the course. They also recommend you book in advance where possible as classes get quite busy - partcularly the Rumba, Advanced Salsa Timba and Regueton classes.

This is a Beginner’s course with a difference: A 'mezcla' of everything that makes Cuban Salsa so infectious, it is part styling, part rhythmic training, part game, part brain-challenge, part social event. But ALWAYS good fun and a fast-track to grabbing a partner and having a turn on the dancefloor! You'll learn the secrets dancing salsa, to styling it up, to making the most of the game it should be, to building your confidence (as a leader or follower) in interpreting the music and responding to your dance partner, to developing your creativity on the dance floor whether you're dancing solo, with a partner (or 2!), in a rueda or in a line.

Introducing you to the footwork and rhythms of several Cuban and Cuban-Spanish popular dances such as Salsa, the ChaChaCha, Mambo and Rumba, this class is perfect for those at any level or style of dance who fancy dipping into Salsa for fun, or those dying to develop their 'solo' dancing skills for moments when you get lost in the music at the side of the dancefloor. Only part of the class is partner-based, with more of a focus on developing your timing and appreciation of the music individually. More than anything, with Descarga Dance, you are guaranteed to enjoy yourself AND learn something!
