René Artois is running his café in the town of Nouvion, where he is having secret affairs with his waitresses and putting up with his wifes abominable singing, as well as hiding the valuable painting of the Fallen Madonna by Van Klomp for the German soldiers - a painting which everyone wants to get their hands on! If there was not enough on René’s plate already he is hiding two British airmen in his cellar and is in the midst of an elaborate plot conducted by the French Resistance to assassinate Hitler!

Based on the successful TV series which ran from 1986 – 1992 this hysterical comedy promises many laughs with the awful French speaking Officer Crabtree, Herr Flick of the Gestapo and the rather questionable use of a stuffed cockatoo.
