Young Artist Exhibition: Emily Speakman

From a very young age, Emily displayed a flair for art that was beyond her tender age. She was soon identified as being ‘more able and talented’ by the teachers in her primary school but It was when she was twelve years old that her exceptional talent for oil painting presented itself. Emily likes to paint landscapes/seascapes with a hint of fantasy. She's fascinated by light and reflections and she will try to create these elements in her work.

In August 2011 at the age of twelve, Emily made her first sale while painting in front of house visitors at Erddig Hall. Emily has been awarded several honours from various associations, groups and in March 2014, Emily was delighted to become a founder member of ACO Galleries, Artists Co-operative alongside some of the best artists the North has to offer.
